ninety-nine, sixty-six were post-operative failures; that is, in a test assumed
by the author to have been “a thorough, scientific test,” two out of every
three cases contained the pernicious source of error of previous operation.(3) Lambelle’s results show—and this I have
always maintained—that a treatment of less than three months cannot be
considered adequate; I would even add an additional month, and regard 120 days
as a general minimum, not maximum. Therefore (4) the hundred cases treated by
