xvi THE ENZYME TREATMENT OF CANCER
no man on earth could have a greater satisfaction than he
in seeing this enzyme treatment succeed.
Of the portions of the book which have been published
previously, Chapters I., III. and IV. are republished from the Lancet, and
Chapters V. and VI. from the Medical Record, by permission of the
editors and proprietors of those journals and the usual acknowledgments and
thanks are tendered herewith. Chapters II., III. and IV. may be taken to
represent the results of work undertaken with the aid of research grants from
the Carnegie Trust of the Scottish Universities, amounting in all to the sum of
L70. Most of the pioneer work of the earlier years was carried out
without the aid of grants from any source.
