Owen please google:Effect of cyanide on the biosynthesis of ascorbic acid by an enzyme preparation from goat-liver tissue . Not good at urls. This is an interesting article. Thanks,Van

Olive leaves have a tiny trace of cyanide. This may be part of the mechanics of how they work.If people could"pick up "on this ascorbic acid biosynthesis pathway it would be a boon to humanity. Thanks,Van

Cyanide increases ascorbate in animals that produce it:

Biosynthesis of L-Ascorbic Acid: Missing Steps in Animals incapable of synthesizing the Vitamin

I could find no evidence either at PUBMED or GOOGLESCHOLAR[b][/b to support the notion that CYANIDE has anything to do with ascorbate synthesis in humans, monkeys guinea pigs, red billed bul-bul birds or fruit bats.

Where does this notion come from?

Everyone should get their quota of vitamin B17 if for nothing else,to feel real good.In the Bible seeds were part of the healthy diet.Seeds contain Vitamin B17(cyanide).Thanks ,Van

Thanks Johnwen. This is the article I found.I tell people now to take their Vitamin B17.It certainly would be good insurance.Have you heard that Vitamin B12 actually breaks down to cobalt ascorbate in our body?It seems that cyanide somehow allows some ascorbate production in humans.Vitamin B12 is cyanocobalamin. Thanks,Van

In researching vitamin B17(cyanide)a lot of the symptoms of its deficiency are the same as the symptoms of scurvy.I thought this was noteworthy. Thanks,Van

There's no such thing as vitamin B17 deficiency.

I'm really wondering what pharmaceutical company you work with. You sound more and more like a Big Pharma shill.

Huh? "Vitamin B17" is amygdalin, it's not a vitamin. Furthermore, there is no rigorous evidence supporting the claim that people have an amygdalin deficiency.

But hey, I guess Dr. Weil is a Big Pharma shill too:
