Post It all begins in the dental chair and multivitamins
Poisade1 here-

It's been awhile, but before I found your miracle Vitamin C, I was taking a product called Immutol discovered by a Dr. Ra almost by accident. After re-reading Dr. Levy's book last night, it hit me like a lightening bolt that since that dentist that caused the incredible damage to my mouth, until my lawsuit is complete and my teeth and gums can be restored, it's crucial I take whatever supplements will protect me and give me my life back.
Currently I'm taking 1 packet of the Age-Blocker, 5 packets of the Lypo-spheric Vitamin C, a product called Ultra Vital Gold II. However, I was out of Immutol and feel the difference. I went on Immutol's website because they produce a kick-butt fish oil. When I got there, a new product appeared called Vito-Maris. I called the company and spoke with someone who told me that recent studies show calamari oil is even more potent. So I plan on adding that to my Immutol order. But on my recent visit to my opthamologist, he did a baseline test for macrodegeneration. And yes, I freaked. I turn 62 tomorrow and it seems prevention is the only way to live a quality life. He told me to get Lutein, Ziaxanthin and Omega 3 DHA/EPA as a preventative.
So you can see, it's getting expensive but I desperately want off the 'big pharma' crap that does nothing but line their pockets. What is a powerful Multi-vitamin that is actually efficacious and what company do you recommend for me to buy the lutein and the Ziaxanthin.
I realize I've really asked alot, but I trust what I hear from the organization and would greatly appreciate any help you can offer.
If I've confused anyone, thanks to my 'pharma drugs' I have dyslexia and aphasia. My apologies.

This is where I miss Ralph Lotz, as he with his 30+ years in the supplement business could answer questions like this!

I know that Life Extension wins awards for the quality of their supplements LEF.ORG (Although I
strongly disagreed with their recent decision based on hokey vitamin D "science" to reduce the vitamin A in their "Life Extension Mix.")

Ralph recommend Life Force (multiples) from Source naturals.

Dear Dr. Wizard-I went on disability in 2004. It was described as severe depression accompanied by severe anxiety disorder. I remember when I first described to you what my attending physician has had me on you were shocked. I'll list them again in case you no longer have my email, but first I want you to know the most troubling of all the things that began then were the severe fatigue, the aphasia, dyslexia and worst of all, my inability to tolerate heat. My doctor just says these are side effects of the drugs I take.

When I first came to you after reading Dr. Levy's book for the second time recently, I remembered it was right after that dentist installed the 10 crowns that broke 54 times from 2004-October 2011 when he had his receptionist tell me the dentist, who had agreed to wait for the money, asked me not to come back. I even emailed Dr. Levy twice, but received no response. Here is my question, do you think that this intolerance to heat and severe fatigue could be a result of all the damage he did to my mouth? I never connected the two, but as you know, I've been looking for a way to cure this through alternative methods.

Before I Started on the Vit C, I was also taking a product called Immutrol, Ultra Vital Gold, bio-identical HRT'S, and pro-biotics. I was able to get off the Prozac and was slowly backing down all the Ritalin the doctor has me taking. I was starting to see a marked difference until I ran out of the Immutrol (and the money to but it)

I finally had the money to re-order it and received it today. The company that makes Immutrol has recently found that it's actually pure calamari oil that is even more powerful than previous Omega 3 fish oils. I ordered that as well. It's called VitaMaris. I take 5gms. of Vit. C and a packet of the AGE BLOCKER. I JUST NEED TO FIND A GOOD MULTI-VIT AND AN EFFICACIOUS NUTRIENT TO PREVENT OR IN MY CASE SLOW DOWN THE MACULAR DEGENERATION, LUTEIN AND ZEAXANTHIN.
I believe that dentist did more damage to my body than I originally thought. Is it possible? I can't bear to have one more year of my life and health stolen from me. I am not asking you to get involved in my lawsuit with this guy, I just want to know if his incompetence could be the reason for the fatigue and heat intolerance.

There has to be an answer that will give me my life back without these insidious drugs I take that do nothing.

Each day I take Xanax 1mg. QID, Ritalin 20mg. QID, Ritalin LA 40mg. BID, Prozac 20mg. BID, and Restoril 30mg. QD at bedtime.

I am hoping you can offer me any information that will help.

Respectfully,

Sallie

Probably the largest cause of depression in the world is vitamin B12 deficiency. And if you have the problem, you cannot take ordinary B12 by mouth - it won't be absorbed, either a B12 shot or this patch (http://www.b12patch.com/about-b12patch.html ). In my brother's case, he knew in a short time, about 4 hours, that his problem was low B12 after putting on the weekly patch.

R you taking CoQ10? Your question about macular degeneration in this email triggered a memory of the latest Townsend Letter and a favorable study of CoQ10.

I have learned that fatigue can equal low cortisol. Dental work can equal low cortisol. However, finding a doctor who knows how to replace it correctly may be impossible, although we now have 2 in Illinois. Where
do you live?

I think I answer either Life Extension Mix or Source Naturals LifeForce are excellent multivitamins.

As I told in my message I am now taking the lypo-spheric AGE-BLOCKER, which should handle the depression which is minimal. Whatever depression I have is likely due to the lawsuit with the dentist which, on a timeline, my illness when I went on disability was right after he put the crowns in. I have brought this fact to the attention of my attorney.

With regard to the CoQ10, I am sufficiently covered.

Thank you for the heads-up on Cortisol. The damage he did to my mouth was devastating.
And if anyone has information regarding my heat intolerance or a good, meaning efficacious, multi-vit in oral form and a company that has efficacious lutein and Zeaxanthin, that would be of great help and put me on the road to recovery. The last two supplements were recommended by my Opthamologist because he saw a very slight change when checking my eyes that could lead to macular degeneration. Boy, I'm a real mess. Forgive my confussion-it's been a tough 9 yrs. However, I am tenacious and relentless when it comes to my health.

I know that Life Extension supplements have won awards for quality - and they carry everything. LEF.ORG

I second what hat been said about lef.org and life force multiple - iron free. Those are both excellent products and companies.
Personally i have used Life force for some time and i have used and are still using a lot of lef.org products.
lef.org has several sale events, where one can by those supps for a steal.

I recommend selenium, magnesium , borax, high dose iodine (lugols solution for tooth brushing ) sski orally. As you probably experienced a lot of stress (emotionally, physically, and probably chemically) i would suggest high dose B complex (e.g. from lef.org) in addition to your multi, extra B5 (supports adrenal glands, up to several grams).
If you have burnt out your adrenals, i think physiologic doses of Hydro cortisone are the way to go, but this is controversial.
Personally i have no doubts about it.

If dental mercury amalgam fillings are part of your history or problems, i strongly recommend the book from Andy Cutler and suggest to avoid any supplement containing alpha lipoic acid. Otherwise i recommend r-ALA because it is a supper antioxidant, good for eyes too.
And do not forget the basics, high dose Vitamin C, that is IMHO the mother of my supplement regime. It is helping in any possible way and does not hurt.

Truehope EMPowerplus might be worth researching. They describe it as the most studied micronutrient mix in the world.

What medical research has been done on EMPowerplus™?
EMPowerplus™ is the most studied micronutrient in the world. It has been independently studied in 3 countries, has 17 medical journal publications with 14 being peer-reviewed. A phenomenal .85 effect size was reported. Read about the nutrient theory and specific EMPowerplus™ research.

Does EMPowerplus™ contain any drugs?
No, it contains only vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants. View ingredients.

How could vitamins and minerals work where drugs have failed?
Many people end up using EMPowerplus™ because drugs have not worked for them. Research has shown that people who have mental illnesses seem to need more of certain vitamins and trace minerals. EMPowerplus™ works by giving the brain an optimized balance of vitamins and trace minerals on a regular basis. The hypothesis is that the nutrients go to the root cause of imbalances rather than just treating the symptoms.

Is EMPowerplus™ safe to use?
The U.S. Institute of Medicine and Health Canada has published detailed information on safe levels of vitamins and minerals. Based on this information, the most serious risk of taking EMPowerplus™ is minor, temporary gastrointestinal upset that could occur in a few people.

What's the difference between EMPowerplus™ and a regular multivitamin?
EMPowerplus™ contains a broad spectrum of vitamins and trace minerals that go through a rigorous four step process to makes them more easily utilized by the body. The nutrients are micronized and chelated so the body can digest them. They are then balanced in optimum ratios to facilitate absorption and high enough doses to be effective.

Why are the ratios of nutrients so important?
Deficiency of one nutrient can make you unable to absorb other nutrients properly, which leads to multiple, inter-related deficiencies. These deficiencies seem to disrupt the brain chemical function in people with disorders such as bipolar disorder, depression, ADHD, and anxiety.

How do you know it's not just a placebo effect?
Numerous studies on the placebo effect have shown that a placebo effect only lasts a short time. Then the effect disappears and symptoms return. EMPowerplus™ does not "stop working." Even the first EMPowerplus™ users who started in 1996 remain symptom-free and drug-free.

Are there any side effects?
EMPowerplus™ produces very few side effects in users and usually just include minor stomach upset as your body gets used to the formulation. People who are transitioning from medications may experience side effects from withdrawal.

Does it work for everyone?
EMPowerplus™ has a very high success rate, but nothing promises 100% success for treating mental illness.

How do I know if EMPowerplus™ is for me?
Read about how we tailor programs based on your symptoms. If you still have questions, call Truehope support to discuss your individual circumstances. If you are on psychiatric medications, ask your doctor to call too. Then you can make an informed decision. EMPowerplus™ has helped thousands of people take control of their symptoms, but it will not rebuild your life for you. It is very important to be ready to leave your illness behind and do the hard work of relearning how to live as a mentally well person. The first adult EMPowerplus™ user ever, Autumn Stringam, writes a blog about this ‘second stage healing’ that many EMPowerplus™ are finding very helpful. Visit http://www.autumnstringam.com to learn more.

I have no connection with Truehope, direct or indirect. Good luck Sallie.

Apart from the germanium, i do not think that this is a particular good combination of a multi. No gama tocopherol, not enough vitamin a, d selen, Zink. Coper is for many people a problem, nickel is for a lot of people not recommended nor usually a problem (at least i have not heard about a benefit on this).
Ok, peer reviewed studies are sounding promising for people who do not know better.

With the cave heath of containing alpah lipoic acid, i would say Life force multiple iron free is one of the most sophisticated and affordable multies i have seen. Second i would say lef.org two per day, and life extension mix for those who can afford.
