 Feedback on Change to Cardio-C
We are toying with the idea of adding an ingredient to our Cardio-C product, and I want to take advantage of the forum to obtain feedback, especially from current Cardio-C customers.
All such powdered products with lysine/proline are sensitive to moisture and will clump reducing shelf life. Douglas Labs recommended adding silica, which is an orthomolecular supplement all by itself, to reduce the effects of moisture. (If it affects the taste we will not do it, but otherwise I think it could be a wonderful idea.)
I know that many alternative doctors recommend silica supplementation, and several have called me recommending that we add it because of its collagen supporting effects. It is also known to reduce hair loss, etc. I was most impressed by the following from the wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silica ) which apparently was an effect offsetting aluminum:
Quote: A study which followed subjects for 15 years found that higher levels of silica in water appeared to decrease the risk of dementia. The study found that for every 10 milligram-per-day intake of silica in drinking water, the risk of dementia dropped by 11%.
This site has a pretty good explanation of known benefits and side effects:

After reading about silica, I even ordered some for myself from Life Extension!
Comments appreciated.
